Now that we have survived the build and skated through closing, it's on to my favorite part about being the owner of a new home.....DECORATING!!!! I have been busy purchasing furniture, lighting, fans and other goodies for the house and will reveal them as we put things together.
I have been looking high and low for a solution to the "builder basic" bathroom mirrors that RH provides. Browsing the Internet, I haven't found replacement mirrors that I love (for a reasonable price) and I hate the thought of getting rid of a perfectly good mirror. I have stumbled across the perfect solution: MirrorMate! This company sends you a custom cut mirror frame that sticks right on to the glass of your existing mirror. The website boasts that it only takes 20 minutes and the prices are extremely reasonable. I plan to order one for the master bathroom and 2nd bath upstairs.
Here are photos of my favorite options from the site. I'll be sure to post a follow up once the kit arrives. Happy decorating everyone!
This is such a coincidence I stumbled across the same brand last weekend when thinking about the same problem. I like the bathroom, but I know I will want to jazz it up a bit and didn't want to replace the whole mirror either. We also found another website picture frames .com I believe it is and they have a whole mirror frame section. I think the prices are a bit better than mirror mate and they are still the custom sized frames.
ReplyDeleteGreat find! We had only purchased a replacement for the powder room so far, but this solution takes all the work out of the other baths...love it! --Ericka
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this! I was trying to think of a solution for this very problem. Our mirrors go from one wall to another. I thought I was going to have to rip out perfectly good mirrors or live with an incomplete look. I think frames around the mirror really makes it look 100 times better!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI saw these on some makeover show on HGTV and thought it was an excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and I love the resource! I, too, saw them do it on HGTV and now I am excited to find a site that offers the framing!
ReplyDeleteThe second one I like more, I believe not that mirrors should have such thick bold frames such as the first one. But none the less, both very quality and home setting.

Thanks for sharing! I've seen this done on HGTV a million times and knew it's something I'd want to do in my own home.
