Progress!!!!

Timeline

Our Timeline is a little different than most because we signed our purchase contract last September, but our build did not start until January. We are on a delayed schedule because job commitments prevent us from moving into the home before May 1, 2012. So, here is the tentative timeline:

1/9/12 Preconstruction Meeting
1/12/12 Groundbreaking
2/29/12 Predrywall Meeting
5/1/12 Estimated Closing Date

As a real estate attorney I was VERY skeptical that Ryan would be able to deliver on time (none of my clients ever do); but judging from the pics our fantastic PM sends me on a weekly basis things are moving along quite nicely :)

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

We chose the James Joyce model, due to it's size and unique layout. Here is a list of our structural selections:

  • Elevation C with Stone and Partial Porch

  • 4 Bedrooms with 2.5 Baths

  • 2 Car Front Entry Garage (no 3 cars in our community....boooo)

  • Finished Basement with Rec Room and 3 Piece Plumbing Rough In

  • Walkout Basement

  • Double Patio Door for Dinette

  • Tile Wall Backsplash

  • Granite Counter Tops (standard for community)

  • Gourmet Kitchen Layout with Double Ovens

  • Stone Fireplace

  • Ceiling Fans in Great Room and Master Bedroom

  • 2 12/14 Decks (Upper and Lower Levels of the House) with Walkout Stairs

  • Hardwoods in Foyer, Kitchen, Dining Room, and Powder Room

  • Front Load Washer and Dryer

  • Study with Double Doors instead of Living Room

  • Alternative Layout for Owner's Bath with Upgraded Ceramic Tile

We splurged on the basement, so tray ceilings and granite for the bathrooms will have to wait :) Here are some pics of the model.

I'm Jumping In....

Greetings Ryan Homes Blogging Community!

I have decided to jump into the wonderful world of blogging about my building experience with Ryan Homes. Every one's blogs have been so helpful, that I thought I owe it to all future building newbies to chronicle our experience. But, I am a little late to the party so I will be posting a series of posts regarding our selections, the process thus far (we are having our predrywall meeting next week), and getting to the finish line. I'm also really into interior design, so expect a fair amount of posts about that too. Well, I hope I can contribute some helpful information (or at least entertain the readers ;).

Thanks for following.
